Understanding Insulin Potentiated Therapy
Classical chemotherapies destroy not only cancer cells but also have strong side effects on the organs and the patient’s immune system. Cancer is always related to a weak immune system. A patient with a strong and effective immune system will not develop cancer.
A strong immune system depends on well-functioning organs. Immune cells are being produced in the bone marrow and then trained in different locations of our body. The organs are connected to each other, and an impaired organ function, regardless if it is the liver, the kidney, or the bone marrow, will affect the immune system in a negative way. Conventional dosages of chemotherapies harm the immune system as well as all other organs. As a result of weakening the immune system, the capability of immune cells to detect and attack cancer cells is impaired.
Our Approach
We use a particular form of low-dose chemotherapy, which protects the organs and the immune system and can even be applied when classical methods no longer help. To achieve this, we combine chemotherapy with insulin. The method is called Insulin Potentiated Chemotherapy (IPT).
Glucose (sugar) is essential for every cancer cell, and without glucose, cancer cells are not able to produce energy and maintain their energy metabolism. To transport the glucose into the cells, the body needs insulin, a natural hormone that is essential for every human.
In comparison to healthy cells, cancer cells greatly depend on the supply of sugar. To absorb more sugar per time period than normal cells, they have more insulin receptors than healthy cells on their cell surface. The result is a faster and more aggressive growth. We take advantage of this anomaly by using insulin during the IPT.
How IPT Works
The introduction of insulin reduces the blood glucose level to a minimum. By doing this, we are weakening the cancer cells in particular. Their membranes become more permeable, and the extra receptors increase sensitivity to any form of chemotherapy. At that moment, we inject a very low dose of chemotherapy (10-15% of the usual dose) with the aim of killing those weakened cancer cells. Due to the low dose, we also minimize the side effects of the chemo drug on the organs and the immune system. Therefore, this form of therapy is very well tolerated and can be repeated many times. It is suitable for almost all types of cancers.
